Mountains. Murals. Mexican Cuisine.
And So Much More.
Welcome to Tucson!
One of many striking murals in Tucson by Joe Pagac.
THE CITY OF TUCSON has a current population of 550,000, with the entire metropolitan area at about 1,000,000. Considering its substantial size, the town is remarkably uncrowded and friendly, with rich traditions in the arts and sciences, quick access to stunning natural beauty, and myriad ways to have fun.
More affordable than many US cities, you can find quality real estate like 6931 W Sky Canyon Drive that would be double or triple the price in many other locations.
Tucson boasts 300 days of sunshine every year, and is surrounded on all sides by dramatic mountains, with delightfully warm winters and dry heat in the summers, wonderfully moderated by our cherished monsoon season, peaking in July and August, with exciting thunderstorms rolling up from the Gulf of California, providing cooling rain and marvelous spectacle.
Tucson is situated in the heart of the Sonoran Desert, which has the highest plant biodiversity of any desert in the world, including the ideal habitat for the majestic Saguaro cactus, which lives up to 300 years.
A few more highlights of the Tucson area:
• UNESCO City of Gastronomy, with arguably the best Mexican food in the U.S., along with a range of savory choices from Greek to Thai. You’ll have your choice of three Whole Foods grocery stores, five Trader Joe’s, AJ’s Gourmet Foods, and many more tasty options for groceries.
• University of Arizona main campus, world-renowned for astronomy, earth sciences, and Poetry Center, with well-regarded medical, law, and business schools.
• Kitt Peak National Observatory, with 24 active telescopes, and nighttime stargazing programs for the public.
• Saguaro National Park, encompassing the Rincon Mountains to the east, and the northern section of the Tucson Mountains to the west.
• Sabino Canyon Recreational Area in the Catalina Mountains, featuring a 3.7-mile paved road that brings you deep into a beautiful pristine landscape, with no regular vehicular traffic, making it ideal for walking, hiking, running, biking, and exploring.
• Catalina State Park offers stunning views of granite peaks, and is ideal for horseback riding, hiking, running, biking, and camping.
• Mt. Lemmon, the highest mountain in the immediate area, at 9157 ft, with the summit accessible by a beautiful road with vistas, skiing, hiking, and camping in a pine forest.
• Many renowned healing resorts, including Canyon Ranch, Loews Ventana Canyon, and Westin La Paloma.
• Year-round golf on your choice of 40 different courses in the metropolitan area.
• Tucson International Airport is an easy half-hour drive from the property and has direct flights to and from many US cities, including PHX, LAX, SFO, SEA, DEN, SLC, ORD, IAH, and ATL.
• Arizona doesn’t observe daylight savings time, so your circadian rhythms stay consistent for good sleep year-round.
